Below a few Pics of the Wood springing into life (March 25th 2017).
Too many to put on one post, the others will follow on separate posts.
As I said on the "Bluebell thread" there are many more Bluebells showing this year, as are some wild Flowers, the white flowers you see are "Wood Anemones"? Also there are several other species making an appearance (forgive my lack of botanical knowledge!!) A couple of them are very rare, and only appear in ancient Woodland, of which Much of Knowle Wood is designated.
Many may have noticed the Trees as you enter the Wood from the Kids play area, that the Trees are covered in Lichen. It isn't (as I thought) the Trees going rotten, but an indication of how "Pure" the air is in Fairlight, and adjoining regions.
All I ask is anyone walking and enjoying the Wood, to try their best not to trample on the wild flowers/bluebells. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks we should have an excellent display, particularly down by the Fence.....both sides!! although there are many large and small patches throughout "OUR" part of Knowle Wood alongside the footpaths.
