November 2017........ Update on the clearance work we have been undertaking the last couple of years.
A few pics below.......these are in the area about 30yds in. and to the right when you enter the Wood from the Children's play area.

This is the latest large area, like most of the others, it was totally inaccessible due to the bramble and Holly

Result of the Holly removed. Still lots more to be removed from this area.
We took a load down today (Fri 3rd Nov') and it hardly shows, such is the sheer amount in here.

A casualty unearthed from the storm of 87......one of many!!

One of the old benches from the Children's play area, relocated here to rest your legs. We have one more to position somewhere in the Wood later!

First planting of a conifer in this recently cleared area, cultivated by Pete from Smugglers way from a Pine cone from the Village (from the Circle?)........Planted a month ago, so far doing well

SAPLINGS.............The pack of 105 saplings of various Trees suitable for the Wood will be arriving around Mid-November, ready for planting.
These were generously donated free of charge from the "Woodland Trust", for whom we gratefully thank.

On another note, The Parish Council are having an Aboriculturist to come and asses Trees in "our" part of Knowle Wood to see what, if any work is needed on them for any reason.

As ever, we would welcome "ANY" help in our "ongoing" work in the Wood.
There is absolutely no requirements as to what amount you do, and is on an as and when it suits you, No commitments.
We meet on Friday mornings at around 9.30am, until about 12 noon.
Just turn up on the day, and you'll be more than welcomed!!

Suitable "old" clothing, and good strong gardening gloves, plus whatever implements you have to hand eg,......fork, rake, loppers, secateurs etc.
