Dear All,

The Building Stronger Communities Fund has been started –

https://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/community/funding/whoyouare/bsc/

This offers small grants of up to £1500 to groups who want to

  1. Develop an understanding of asset based approaches.
  2. Research and recognise people’s strengths and creativity that are available or could be available in an arear or community.
  3. Activate people’s strengths and creativity around a clear purpose and potential to contribute to wellbeing goals.
  4. Contribute to improved wellbeing and life chances for individuals, families or communities through collaborative working.

It is open to groups with an income of up to £50,000.

The good thing is that the groups do not have to be constituted, or have a bank account. It is trying to encourage very small, informal and new groups to start something.  HVA, RVA and 3VA are available to support the application process and offer advice.

It is a rolling programme so there is no deadline. They aim to turn around applications within 3 weeks which is great. And the application process is apparently pretty straightforward…

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Egle Kelpsaite
