Many of you will have known our Fairlight church organist, Patrick Cox-Smith, who sadly died of cancer recently. Patrick served our community for over 20 years, not only playing at Sunday services but at many of the weddings and funerals that have taken place in the village during those years.
On Friday 16 September at 4pm we are holding a Memorial Songs of Praise in memory of Patrick. The programme will include personal memories of Patrick and we will sing some of his favourite hymns. We are honoured that Dr David Flood, retired organist from Canterbury Cathedral and a special friend of Patrick’s, will come to play the organ for us.
All are welcome to come and share in this special musical event. Drinks and cake will be served at the end.
