Hello everyone for the last time.
I expect by now most of you will know that we will not be returning in September. At the AGM in May it was decided to close Speakers Corner as the Treasurer and myself were unable to continue to run this wonderful Club. Unfortunately, there was no interest in anyone taking our place, therefore there was no option but to close.
We have had some wonderful Speakers over the years but our membership has been falling for a while and with all the running costs involved it was not viable to continue. As Secretary I found myself in a position where I was finding it more challenging to run the Club and despite our great Committee things were tough!
I must thank all our Members who supported us over the years and I know personally that many of you will miss us as we will miss you.
So it’s goodbye from Brenda, Elizabeth, Helen, John and myself and I am sure we will all meet again at other Clubs and activities in the village.
